How do I check to see if my information has been removed ?

Two ways. Browse the Internet for the companies on the list, enter your information in their respective search areas and check to see if your information shows up in the searches. Some companies will require a subscription to check or an email to their office requesting updates. As an alternative Publicsafetyprivacy.com will check out the database companies for you for a small fee in our monitoring program. Some database companies will send you confirmation letters or cards indicating your information has been removed. Some may also send you a follow up letter requiring additional information.

What happens if the database company refuses to remove my information ?

Government Code Section 6254.21 is specific and addresses removal of your information for four years and should be honored by all of the Database Companies. If an issue arises and one of them refuses to remove your information, you would have to decide what course of action to take on your own or with your attorney. Publicsafetyprivacy.com does not guarantee the removal and will not represent you in any way in this conflict. We only supply the contact information for these companies. We have tested this process and all companies have complied to date and have not indicated refusal to remove any information. You may receive additional correspondences with additional identification requirements from some of the companies but most will except the letters we supply.
